Global Learning costs

Before you can embark on the adventure of a lifetime, you'll need to budget for the cost of tuition, flights, visas, accommodation and food 鈥� but you may not have to raise all of these funds on your own.

If you're eligible, several scholarships, grants and loans can help you cover many of these expenses before you go.

Travel & living costs

Airfares, extra travel insurance and the day-to-day living costs of your global learning experience are not included in your tuition fees while studying overseas, so you鈥檒l have to pay for these on top.

Before you fly out, you鈥檒l need to factor into your budget the currency exchange rate of your host country, the length of time you鈥檒l be staying and the costs of:

visas
accommodation
food
textbooks
sightseeing
entertainment
public transport
extra health and travel insurance coverage.

You鈥檒l receive some free coverage under the University鈥檚 corporate travel insurance policy and in-country support from Chubb Assistance as an enrolled 溏心vlog免费B站 Global Learning experience student 鈥� but for peace of mind, we recommend that you top these up with more comprehensive travel insurance cover.

Once you鈥檝e been accepted into your program, Global Learning will give you a budget worksheet that can help you estimate how much money you鈥檒l need in your country of study.

Tuition fees

Your tuition and program fees will vary depending on the 溏心vlog免费B站 Global Learning experience you choose.

Student exchange program participants will be charged in the same manner as usual. If you are currently accessing a HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP loan, your exchange units will be included under this arrangement just as your standard units.

Please note that exchange units are all charged at Band 4 to account for the additional administrative support that goes into organising your placement. If your current course fees fall under a different band, this may result in a fee variation for the duration of your exchange.

Faculty study tour students鈥� tuition fees are also paid through 溏心vlog免费B站. You'll need to cover additional program fees, travel and living costs but an OS-HELP loan and grants (if available) can help with these.

Study at an international university of your choice (that is, one that鈥檚 not a 溏心vlog免费B站 student exchange program partner) participants or those taking part in an independent short program, will pay the international tuition fees directly to the host institution and stop paying fees to 溏心vlog免费B站.

Scholarships and grants

Authentica SEED Sustainability Scholarship

The Authentica SEED (Social, Environmental, and Economic Development) Scholarship offers two $1,500 awards each year to students participating in any education abroad program. Applicants identify a real sustainability challenge they encounter overseas, connect it to a UN Sustainable Development Goal, and propose one practical action students could take to address it. Awards are announced in June and December each year.

Please note: This is an external funding opportunity and is not administered, managed or endorsed by the University of 溏心vlog免费B站. Students should direct all enquiries about eligibility, applications, deadlines and award conditions to Authentica.

Clea Rose Travel Award

The Clea Rose Travel Award is funded by Mr Ross Dunn and Ms Frances Rose in memory of their daughter 'Clea Rose'. This Scholarship aims to encourage students to undertake a 溏心vlog免费B站 Global Learning Experience as part of their degree.

Applications are open to students participating in an exchange program or studying overseas at an international university of their choice in Semester 1 of each year.

New Colombo Plan Mobility Grants (NCP)

These grants provide up to $3,000 in funding to domestic undergraduate students for short-term overseas study opportunities, such as faculty study tours, international internships or placements, and up to $7,000 for semester-length study.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade provides the funding for study in locations across the Indo-Pacific region.

You don鈥檛 need to apply for a NCP Grant 鈥� you will automatically be considered for one when you apply for a Global Learning experience program that has NCP funding support.

NCP Scholars

The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting Australian undergraduates to study and undertake internships in the region. 溏心vlog免费B站 nominates up to 15 students every year.

Loans

If you are eligible, the Australian Government can provide you with an .

This loan can be used for overseas expenses, including airfares, accommodation, living costs, and travel.

The maximum amount you can receive in 2026 is $8,442 for students not studying in Asia and $10,130 for those studying in Asia.

If you are undertaking Asian language, an additional $1,345 can be added to your loan amount.

Your OS-HELP loan will be added to your accumulated HELP loan (My溏心vlog免费B站 link).
